<br />POOL NEWS <br /> <br />/' <br /> <br />The Ramsey residents are encouraged to take full advantage of <br />Fred Moore Community Pool. The following is a brief summary <br />of the scheduled activities. <br /> <br />OPEN RECREATIONAL SWIMMING <br />The pool is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday <br />from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. each week for your use. In addition the <br />pool is open on weekends from 1: 15 to 5: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 to <br />9: 00 p.m. <br /> <br />OPEN SWIMMING RATES <br />Dailv admission: 75 cents for children; $1.00 for adults <br /> <br />Coupon books: 24 coupons for $10.00. One coupon good for <br />one swimming. The coupon book will be good at both Fred <br />Moore and Coon Rapids Junior High Community Pools, <br />continuing through the summer season. Season tickets are <br />available for 3 or 6 mot:lth periods from the date of purchase. <br /> <br /> <br />Community <br />School <br />Director <br />Hired <br /> <br />The Ramsey Elementary School will open its doors as a <br />community school January 5 with the new director coming on <br />board at that time. <br />Mary Hassett, formerly a Community School Director in the <br />Duluth School District, has been employed as an Associate <br />Community School Director. Mary has been employed as an <br />Associate Community School Director, in that she will be <br />working part-time while at the same time working on her Master's <br />degree in Community Education at St. Thomas College. <br />Mary is a graduate of Mankato State College in Parks and <br />Recreation Administration. For the past year and a half she has <br />performed very successfully as a full time Community School <br />Director at Washington Junior High School in Duluth. <br />Mary has a very extensive background in the human service <br />field and will be a welcome addition to the Ramsey community. <br /> <br />Status of the <br /> <br />Ramsey Community School <br /> <br />With the new director coming on board January 5, the first few <br />weeks will be spent meeting as many people as possible in order <br />to obtain feedback necessary to develop a comprehensive <br />program for the residents. The present plan is to outline a basic <br />program which will provide a wide range of opportunities for <br />youth, teen and adults. A special flyer will be sent out to all <br />Ramsey residents the last week of January, as well as a special <br />flyer through the school. The program will begin the first week of <br />February. <br />If you have any ideas you would like to share with your new <br />Community School Director please call the Ramsey School or the <br />Community Services Department, 757-7180, during the first part <br />of January. <br /> <br />Season tickets: 3 months $6.00 single, $12.00 family. 6 months <br />$10.00 single, $20.00 family. <br /> <br />ALL TICKETS EXPIRE JUNE 1 <br /> <br />Both Coupon Books and Season Tickets are sold at the Fred <br />Moore Pool during open swimming hours. <br /> <br />FAMILY OPEN SWIM <br />Family open swimming is from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and <br />Thursday. <br /> <br />SWIMMING LESSON INFORMATION <br />Lessons for Tiny Tots, Youth and adults get underway January <br />12 with many openings for all age groups and at varying times. <br />For information on the Lesson Program call the Community <br />Services Department, 757-7180 and information will be sent to <br />you. <br /> <br />RAMSEY PRESCHOOL <br />PROGRAM COMING <br /> <br />The Community Services Department, in cooperation with the <br />new Ramsey Community School, will be offering a Preschool <br />Prep Program beginning in January. The program is designed for <br />boys and girls living in the Ramsey School attendance area who <br />will enter Kindergarten in the fall of 1976. Eligible birthdates fall <br />between September 2, 1970 and September 1, 1971. Children <br />with birthdates on or after September 2,1971 are not eligible this <br />year. <br />The program, which is basically recreational while emphasizing <br />group socialization, concepts of colors, numbers, letters and <br />shapes, and verbal communication, will be held at RAMSEY <br />COMMUNITY SCHOOL. Classes are held two days per week for <br />two hours each time. Ramsey classes will be held Mondays and <br />Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. The <br />fifteen week session begins January 26 and runs through May 1,2 <br />with one week off at Easter. The fee is $35.00 per child for the <br />15 week session. <br />Registration began December 9, 1975. There may be openings <br />remaining and waiting lists will be made.
