~, - 4 - Some types of trees do not become dormant until the last part of September or the first part of October and this is the reason the tree sale in the fall takes place in October. It is a good idea to have your holes dug for the trees with water already having been placed in the holes before you come to get your trees or shrubs. Then take them home and plant them immediately so they will be exposed to air for as short a period of time as possible. It is also a good idea to have something with which to cover the roots while you are taking them home as they are covered up until the time you get them and kept moist. At this time I would like to say "Goodbye" to all of you. On Oct. 1st I am retiring. It has been a pleasure to work for the citizens of Ramsey and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been looking forward to this for a long time. I wanted to retire last October but with the new city starting in November, it was thought it would be better to wait until the new city got off to a good start; then again the first of the year and in the spring I would have liked to hav€ the summer time off but with a new staff coming in it seemed only fair to give them a hand getting started. Now with the new staff on board, I feel I can go have some fun for myself. I hope the future of Ramsey is bright and successful and that we will all work to keep Ramsey a very nice place in which to live because nothing good is accomplished without work and cooperation.
