Tentative dates are January 20th and ,27th and February 3rd with the <br />further 3 hour session to be held shortly (1 week) thereafter. Registra- <br />tion will begin at the time you receive this newsletter and will continue <br />through January 10th. We will be holding class size to 30 perso~ but the <br />course will be o:ff'erred again in February through May so all those who <br />register will be accommodated before summer rolls around. The cost of <br />the entire course is zero (O) dollars unless yOu desire to have the course <br />text STANDARD FIRST-AID AND PERSONAL SAFETY. YES OR NO <br /> <br />The City Council is considering starting jointly with School District #11 <br />a community school at Ramsey's new elementary school. A community school <br />offers many activities such as summer programs for boys and girls, after <br />school and evening activities for child~of' all ages, plus many adult <br />functions, such as crafts, recreational and educational classes. <br /> <br />The estimated cost of the community school would be as follows: <br /> <br />$13,600 <br />300 <br />3,000 <br /> <br />Total budget for director, <br />Grant monies available <br />School District #11 would <br />every year hereafter <br /> <br />coaches, supplies, equipment, etc. <br />supply the 1st year and possibly <br /> <br />:l)10,30U <br /> <br />Ramsey has been offered a donation of half of Ramsey's cost for a community <br />school in its first year by a resident of our community. Thus in its first <br />year, our cost would be cut in half. <br /> <br />The City Council would very much appreciate it if you would cut off the <br />bottom portion of this page and mail or take it to the Ramsey City Hall <br />at 14100 St. Francis Blvd. N.W. By doing this YOll will help them arrive <br />at a decision on a community school. Mutual problemsw~re discussed and answeIS sought. The Metro- <br />politan Council had a representative to answer questions. Mr. Kaibel <br />f'rom the MMC also came out to a combined meeting of Ham Lake, Andover and <br />Ramsey to discuss problems facing new cities~ Some of items discussed <br />at both meetings were, police protection, fire protection, parks, etc. <br />It is good when neighboring communities can get together and discuss <br />
