.. 2 - The moratorium on platting will be over on May 16th. The first date on which plats can be brought in will be June 4th to the Planning and Zoning Commission. During this period we have been working very diligently on the new zoning code which we hope and sincerely feel will be a great help to us in the future planning of our Township. We have had three public hearings on this zoning code and map which have been well attended. ****** Residents of Ramsey Township are reminded that dogs require a license. This may be obtained at the Town Hall upon presentation of a rabies shot certificate. Dogs that are outside of your own personal property are liable to be picked up. The dog catcher has been instructed to pick up dogs not on their own premises because of the number of complaints we have received recently. ****** The office at 14100 St. Francis Blvd N.W. is open every day Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Town Board meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at $:00 p.m. The Planning and Zoning meet- ings are held the first Monday of each month at $:00 p.m. If you wish to come to any of these meetings you will be most welcome. If you wish to appear on the agenda, please call and ask to have your name put on the agenda for that meeting. If new people move into your neighborhood, please urge them to come over to the Town Hall to be registered any time during office hours. ****** Ramsey Township needs an elementary school. The Citizens Advisory Com- mittee members from Ramsey Township are Dennis Anderson, Arnold Cox, and Dr. Les Martin. This Committee strongly encouragErlthe School Board at their October meeting that there is a critical need for an elementary school here. If we had such a school open in our Township today we would have over 900 children in attendance. The average elementary school has an enrollment of about 700 children. Ramsey Township children have been juggled back and forth between existing Anoka elementary schools for a long time. Because of the rapid growth and the expected four hundr~plus homes expected this year, an additional $00 children can be expected in Ramsey Township this summer so the Town Board encouraged the School Board to purchase two school sites at this time. According to the Citizens School Study Group and the school officials, if an elementary school is not commenced soon, all of our youngsters will be forced into a split shift or a 45-15 plan, where a child goes to school 45 days and is off 15 days. Should this happen, it would present the families of Ramsey Township with an opportunity to discover new vacation plans and arrange- ments for working parents. Bond election and School Board election will be held May 15, 1973 at the Ramsey To\~ Hall from 7:00 a.m. to $:00 p.m. Be sure to get out to vote. Astrid Guy, Secretary
