~ - 2 - ~ A committee from the School District and Ramsey Township is looking for a site for an elementary school and municipal/community center in Ramsey. The School District has been approached on the idea of building extra space in this school for Ramsey to lease as a meeting hall. Possibly, in the future, space could be obtained for a fire department, police de- partment, playground, etc. This would result in an advantageous cost benefit to Ramsey. * * * * * * A secretary is now employed from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. If you have any questions or if we can help you, please call 427-1410. Registration for voting can be done any day at the Town Hall. We will have registration for voting also on Feb. 15, 16, and 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The election will take place at the Town Hall on March 13th. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to S:OO p.m. Because of crowded conditions the annual meeting will be held at the Tec. Center at S:30 p.m. We will be voting for one supervisor, a treasurer and a constable. Filing dates are Jan. 29th thru Feb. 12th. * * * * * * We will have a dog clinic on Saturday, March 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Town Hall. Rabies shots given at this time will be at a re- duced rate. A veterinarian will be present, who can give any dogs brought here their rabies shot, which is a requirement for a license. Some changes are being made in our present dog ordinance. These will be published in the Anoka Union or can be obtained at the Town Hall. Cost of dog license is $3.00 for a male dog, $3.00 for a spayed female dog, and $5.00 for an unspayed female dog. Because of the number of phone calls we have re- ceived, we urge citizens to keep their dogs on their own property and be sure they have a license. Dogs running in packs are a hazard to children and livestock and any dog off the owner's property will be impounded. * * * * * * Ramsey has a park board which is involved with establishing park and play- ground sites in the Township. About $4,200 has been set aside for estab- lishing park areas for the citizens of Ramsey. * * * * * * The Metropolitan Airport Commission has recommended that the northern site would be the most likely site for the airport. The greater portion of the proposed site would be in Grow Township and portions of the proposed buffer zones would be in the eastern area of north Ramsey. No action apparently has been taken by the Metropolitan Council. * * * * * * The Anoka Union is the official newspaper for the Town of Ramsey.
