,

COMMUNITY SECURITY PROGRM~S
A NOTICE FROM CONSTABLE AUSPOS TO THE CITIZENS OF RAMSEY TOWNSHIP:

The Town of Ramsey is initiating two programs in an effort to
reduce home and business burglaries, aid recovery of stolen articles
and to promote community awareness.

OPERATION IDENTIFICATION

Operation Identification is a program that was initiated in 1963
at Monterey Park, California and since begun in many cities through-
out the U. S. Many communities in this metropolitan area have the
program in operation now. Basically the idea of the program is to
make it possible for citizens of a community to easily mark their
valuables with an individually unique number that is traceable any-
where in the United States through computer links to a central com-
puter in Washington D. C. Participation in Operation Identification
assures a homeowner will have a list of all h~s valuable items with
an identifying number that is assigned only to him. Participating
homes will also receive decals to place on their doors and windows
that serve notice to potential thieves that all valuables are marked.
For more information on this plan, call the Ramsey Town Hall, 427-
1410 or stop there, 14100 St..Francis Blvd. N. W.

As with any idea or project, participation is the key to any
profit realized. Your help is needed to assist us in helping you.

This program is free of any charge to residents and businesses
in Ramsey Township.
