within the City prior to enactment of this section is required to make application for a BRC within 30 <br />days after the effective date of this section. <br /> <br />When an existing BRC holder changes its name but does not substantially change its business <br />operations, the business owner shall reapply for a BRC, however, the City will not require an additional <br />application fee. <br /> <br />A non-refundable application fee, in an amount established from time to time by City Council <br />resolution, shall be paid to the City, and shall accompany the BRC application. The application for a <br />BRC shall contain the following information: <br /> <br />a. Name of proposed business <br /> b. Address of business (including suite number, if applicable) <br />c. Phone number of business <br />d. Zoning district where the business is located <br />e. Key holder contact information <br />f. Type of business operation <br />g. Building owners name, address, and phone number(s) <br />h. Amount of flammable/combustible liquid storage on the business site <br />i. Amount of hazardous materials storage on the business site <br />j. Amount of explosive material or ammunition on the business site <br />k. Unique operation or design of the business <br />1. Hours of operation <br />m. Name of almTn company serving the business site <br />n. Alarm. Status (Audible - Silent) <br />o. Type of Alarm System on the business site (Water Flow, Burglar, Glass Break) <br />p. Any other information the City may find necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Section <br /> <br />Subdivision 4. Issuance of Business Registration Certificate <br /> <br />Upon receipt by the City of (1) a completed BRC application, (2) review of the BRC application and (3) <br />verification by the City that the business does comply with the City Code, Uniform Building Code, and <br />Uniform Fire Code, the City will issue a BRC to the Business applicant. <br /> <br />Subdivision 5. Violation <br /> <br />Any person who violates any of the provisions of this ordinance is guilty of a petty misdemeanor and <br />upon conviction therefore shall be punished by a fine of up to $300.00. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Summary <br /> <br />This new ordinance requires all Businesses in the City to obtain a Business Registration Certificate <br />("BRC"). The BRC establishes a comprehensive business list and detailed information pertaining to the <br />operation of the Business which information will allow the City to provide accurate non-private <br />information to the public, ensure the Business is operating in the appropriate facility, and provide for <br />better means to alert the Police Department of any hazards or security issues that may affect the <br />community. <br /> <br />Ordinance/t03-12 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
