Dave Baack will <br />be sending out a letter to every RY AA participant to invite them and their family <br />to the picnic. RYAA sponsors are invited also. Volunteers are needed for the <br />picnic. <br />Registration for fall sports will occur at the Picnic on August 7. Additional <br />registration dates will be August 9 and II from 7-9 p.m. at the Central Park <br />Center. Fall sports will include football, soccer, girls traveling basketball ancl <br />girls volleyball. <br />Dave Baack, Reid Droegemeuller and Bev Swanson macle a presentation at <br />the Ramsey City Council meeting of June 28, regarding concern over the <br />condition of the fields in Ramsey. A follow-up meeting was held July 7 with <br />Mayor Jim Gilbertson and Councilmembers Glen Hardin and Gerry Zimmer- <br />man. <br />The equipment managers spend a lot of time handling inventory, organizing <br />and replacing equipment. They also spend countless hours handing out equip- <br />ment at the beginning of the season and collecting it when the season is done. <br />There are approximately 1,000 youth in our summer programs. To keep our <br />programs going, we must have more help. This is your chance to volunteer your <br />time. We need oneor two couples who can serve as assistantequipmentdirectors. <br />Directors are needed for the following winter sports: <br />6-9 Girls Traveling Basketball <br />Girls Volleyball <br />RYAA has reeently purchased Hollywood Impact bases for fields 1-5 at <br />Central Park. RY AA volunteers will install the bases. The cost for the bases is <br />approximately $2,000. <br />RY AA is hosting the B tournament for the Sandy Koufax league (14 and <br />under). The tournament will host 16 teams. This isa great fundraiser for RY AA. <br />Volunteers are needed to work the gate and concessions stand. <br />Dave Baack will be meeting with Anoka to work out a basketball program. <br />There is a need to expand in-house leagues for boys and girls in the middle school. <br />RY AA meetings are held the last Sunday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at <br />Central Park.
