Brad Zahler, 15, of Andover has won ftrst place in the Young American i Creative Patriotic Art contest sponsored by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Anoka ..... VFWPost 1043. Secondand third places were won by Tori MyslayekofRamsey i and Abraham Pausch of Andover. Zahler is a ninth-grader at Anoka High ..... School. He got the idea for the painting after looking ata book about the Vietnam ..... War. His painting will go to VFW district and state competitions. The contest i was completed at the Anoka High School art department under the guidance of art instructor Lana Thormodsgaard. The VFW Ladies' Auxiliary of Ramsey, located on Highway #10, also sponsored the contest at the Champlin Park High School. The ftrst place art prize was won by Christine Sawicky, a student of Rebecca Lano, and was sent on to district and state competition also. The local Auxiliary prizes will be awarded at the Post Home in Ramsey in late May.
