<br />a A BIG BIKE ROAD-EO THANKS TO SOME VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE ~

<br />The Seventh Annual Becky Weiss Memorial Bike Road-eo on May 3, was a big success with 400 children participating and more
<br />parents observing. It was wonderful to see so many people taking part in a very special and important event, created to educate children on
<br />bicycle safety .
<br />Under bright sunny skies with lots of wind, children participated in the road-eo by receiving aT-shirt, a thorough bicycle inspection
<br />and tune-up, a safety lecture, a safety obstacle course, lunch, an Anoka Police canine demonstration, information on the dangers of electricity/
<br />power lines, the importance of wearing a helmet, water safety and a chance to win many prizes which included 11 bicycles and tickets to
<br />a Twins game complete with limousine service.
<br />An event like this cannot be held without the help of many volunteers and businesses contributing their talents, financial support,
<br />and prize donations. A SPECIAL THANKS to the Ramsey Lions Club, Rich and Troy Wolens of Pioneer Schwinn, Anoka Police Sgt. Jeff
<br />Beahen and Bobby Beahen, Anoka Police Canine Officer Scott Wendell and Taz, Warning Lites ofMN, Inc., Health Span, The American
<br />Red Cross, the Anoka County Sheriff's Water Patrol, AnokaElectric Cooperative, Valerie Marquardt of Mercy/Unity Hospitals, the Funster
