As a result, the City does
not have to invest in additional equipment and personnel to duplicate a
service that already exists in the private sector. Anoka Electric
Cooperative also provides mapping services in conjunction with the City's
utility services and fleet maintenance on the City's equipment fleet. The
arrangement also benefits AEC by more fully utilizing their in-house
computer systems and maintenance facilities.
The City is constantly looking for other ways to keep
organizational operating costs down. Technology improvements over
the past few years, and continued monitoring of upgrades in technology,
allow the City to continually stream-line operations. Maintenance
operations have also been improved through the continual upgrade of
the equipment and vehicle fleets and through the utilization of preventative
maintenance programs through Anoka Electric Cooperative. Staffing,
as mentioned earlier, does not include large complements of people for
emergency events, such as large snowfalls. Rather, a number of people
are "on-call" should the need arise, but are not on the payroll for the rest
of the year.
As with the past few years, 1997 was a busy year in Ramsey.
Hopefully through it all, we have been able to meet your needs and
expectations as residents and taxpayers. Questions or other input
regarding City operations are welcome, and as always, your advice and
support is greatly appreciated.

NEW RESIDENTS

If you are a new resident of the City of Ramsey, please visit the
Municipal Center, also known as City Hall, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00
p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a new resident packet and your
recycling bin. We will sign you up for the recycling program at that time
and provide you with information you may need regarding the City. The
Municipal Center is located at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, north of
Ramsey Elementary School on the opposite side of the road.

Ramsey Resident
Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

ECRWSS
BULK RATE
U.s.
