Adopt -A -Flag You may have seen the beautiful American Flags lining Sunwood Drive NW in front of Ramsey City Hall. Did you know you can sponsor one of these flags to show civic pride or honor a loved one's memory? Public. The flags are placed on the light poles shortly before Memorial Day and removed after Veterans Day. Your one-time donation will be acknowledged with an engraved nameplate displayed in City Hall and at a City Council meeting. There are two Adopt -A -Flag patronage levels. Friends of the Flag is $50 and sponsors one of the 2' by 3' flags. The other is the Patriot Sponsorship, at $500. That flag is 3' by 5' and is displayed in the intersections of the COR. City Council Highlights - August 26 Consent Agenda The City Council unanimously approving all 13 items on the Consent Agenda. Council Business (two cases) The first case was to Adopt Resolutions #25-192, #25- 200 and #25-204 Supporting Terms of a TIF Agreement and Business Subsidy, Submitting Applications for MIF and JCF and Calling for a Public Hearing for Zero Zone Refrigeration, LLC. Zero Zone Refrigeration is requesting financial assistance relating to their proposed 55,000-square-foot expansion in Ramsey. The proposed expansion will result in the creation of 55-70 new jobs with starting wages exceeding $21.00/hr. Zero Zone is requesting a $360,000 Pay -Go TIF Note with a 6% Interest Rate to assist with TIF-eligible site costs. Zero Zone is also requesting state incentives (MIF, JCF) that the City would manage to assist with the construction of the building, purchase of machinery and equipment and job creation. Council unanimously approved the three resolutions related to financial assistance. The final case was to consider supporting the Ramsey Police Department's Funding Application to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The purchase and implementation of a public safety drone has been discussed over several budget cycles, with the 2026 budget identifying funding for both the acquisition of the equipment and the launch of the program. The Police Department's goal is to have the drone program operational by the first quarter of 2026. The drone program is expected to provide several key public safety benefits, including: • Assisting in the search for and location of missing or endangered individuals • Supporting the safe apprehension of fleeing suspects • Enabling officers to manage potentially dangerous individuals from a safe distance To support this initiative, the Police Department is applying for a donation through the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Equipment Donation Program. As part of the application, letters of support will be included upon approval. City Council unanimously approved the funding application and the submission of a letter of support for the Police Department's proposed drone program.
