CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Topic Report: Hwy 47/Xkimo Street
Property
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator

Background:

The City of Ramsey has been involved with a joint powers T.H. #47 Alternative Alignments
Study for the past few months. The study originated from the City of Ramsey's request to
realign Highway #47 to Dysprosium and Thurston Avenue to Highway #10.

The northern-most portion of the alternative alignment will include the acquisition of property to
the Lord of Life Church property. The City of Ramsey entered into discussions with the Lord of
Life Church over a year ago and a possible exchange of land was suggested that would include
the property immediately to the east ofT.H. #47 and north of Xkimo Street (map attached). The
property is owned by Rick Foster. Mr. Foster was contacted and indicated a willingness to sell
the property.

It has been a considerable amount of time since the initial contacts with the Lord of Life Church
and Mr. Foster, however, Mr. Foster recently contacted the City to inquire to the City's interest
to acquire the property. Staff would like to discuss it in work session.

Action Statement:

Seek direction from Council concerning the property located at T.R #47 and Xkimo Street..

Reviewed by:

City Administrator

CCWS:

12/04/06
