CC Regular Session Meeting Date: Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: 09/23/2025 5. 16. Title Adopt Resolution #25-233 to Appoint a New Member to the Economic Development Authority Purpose/Background: To appoint Ms. Nichole Bauer to the Economic Development Authority to fill the remainder of Mr. Willaim MacLennan's term, which expires on March 31, 2027. Background: • Mr. Willaim MacLennan has announced his resignation from the EDA. • Ms. Nichole Bauer was previously appointed to a partial term on the Planning Commission during the last annual recruitment cycle. • Her preferred appointment at the time was the EDA, and the City council discussed this possibility before appointing her to the Planning Commission. • Upon learning of Mr. MacLennan's resignation, staff contacted Ms. Bauer to confirm her continued interest in serving on the EDA. • Ms. Bauer expressed strong interest and willingness to accept the appointment. • She also agreed to remain on the Planning Commission until the next recruitment cycle in early 2026, after which her seat would be filled by a new appointee. During the September 9, 2025, work session, by consensus, the City Council directed staff to prepare a resolution to replace Mr. MacLennan's soon to be vacant seat by appointing Ms. Bauer. It should be noted that per the attached policy, there were no other applicants on file to consider for this opening. Funding Source: Funding for the City's boards and commissions is included in the 2025 General Fund Budget. Recommendation: To appoint Ms. Nichole Bauer to a partial term on the EDA effective October 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027. OutcomeAction: Motion to adopt resolution #25-233 appointing Ms. Nichole Bauer to a partial term on the EDA effective October 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027.
