<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-07-214 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NAMING PARK SPACES WITHIN RAMSEY TOWN CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the residents of Ramsey have long envisioned a Town Center which fulfills <br />the community's needs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this 370 acre mixed use site has been created featuring 25 acres of park <br />space appropriately spaced and connecting these uses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission is charged with recommending the <br />design of these parks and their names; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission has done so and 'recommends that these parks be known to <br />be 'common' to the Ramsey Town Center by the name of the Commons; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />That, the City Council hereby approves the Park and Recreation Commission's <br />recommendation that the following parks be named as follows: <br /> <br />. Meandering Commons - (the undulating one-mile centralized park space in the center). <br /> <br />. Village Square Commons - (the 2 plus - acre park space across from the Municipal <br />Center and Parking Ramp. <br /> <br />. Town Center Commons - (the small park at the very heart or hub of the Town Center). <br /> <br />. North Commons - (the park at the north center area of the site). <br /> <br />. Rhinestone Commons - (the park at Rhinestone Street and East Ramsey Parkway). <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-07-214 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
