Mr. Norman advised the initial Option term expires on February 28, 2008, <br />and this date can be extended for two one year periods, or February 28,2010. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to authorize staff to <br />implement the required actions to exercise the City's option to acquire Outlots A and B, Ramsey <br />Town Center Fifth Addition, pursuant to the terms and conditions ofthe Option Agreement dated <br />February 28,2005, between Ramsey Town Center, LLC and the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />1) Council Input <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the following: <br />· He has been asked by property owners whether they can take down political signs that <br />have been placed on their property without their permission. City Attorney Goodrich <br />replied signs can be taken down on property owned by an individual; if there are signs <br />located in the right-of-way the State should be contacted. <br /> <br />· He has been contacted by the school district regarding where the children will be <br />evacuated to during the evacuation drill planned in November. Assistant City <br />Administrator Nelson explained Fire Station No.2 will continue to operate at the current <br />location and will continue to be available for the school district to utilize for evacuation <br />space. Police Chief Way indicated there will not be staff present at the Fire Station, so if <br />there is an evacuation there will not be anyone on-site. Mayor Gamec directed staff to <br />contact the school district regarding the evacuation. <br /> <br />· Request to staff to look into the status of a review of Mayor and Council salaries as was <br />previously discussed by the Council. <br /> <br />· City offices will be closed on October 27, 2006 due to the move to the new municipal <br />center. Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated the new municipal center will be <br />open on Monday, October 30. Information regarding the move is included in the City <br />newsletter that will be in homes towards the end of next week. The phone number for <br />City offices will be unavailable for a period of time on October 27.
