As a resident of 13711 Dolomite Street, 1
strongly oppose this proposition.

The opportunity to practically have a wildlife refuge in one's own backyard does
not come along too often, especially for a transplant from the suburbs of San Francisco.
Part of the reason my family moved to Ramsey was to have the chance to live in a place
that can blend nature and a human community so well.

Since we moved here 21f2 years ago, we've been lucky enough to have become
avid spectators to the frequent comings and goings of such animals as deer, foxes,
rabbits, and a plethora of different birds, ducks, geese, and rodents. If the proposed
rezoning of this area occurs, and the construction of housing commences, these animals
and their home will be wiped out and the area's natural beauty will be gone forever.
The animals will almost certainly meet their end, as the land is bordered by residential
neighborhoods, the Mississippi River, and Highway 10.

In the growing suburbs around the Twin Cities, land along the Mississippi is no
doubt very valuable financially, and while I wholeheartedly support the development
of Ramsey for both residential and commercial purposes, 1 believe it would be a dire
mistake to rezone and therefore develop this particular plot of land. This natural oasis
will be a priceless asset in the community for future generations, even after Ramsey has
been well developed and established, but only if we fight for it s survival now. vVhile
the temptation is probably overwhelming to slice up this land and offer it up as real
estate, 1 ask you to please consider the non-monetary value that this area holds for all its
inhabitants and neighbors, a value that will be most obvious as time passes...1 just hope
this realization doesn't come too late.

~~

Jessica P.
