<br />Sign Area - That area within the marginal lines of the surface which bears the <br />advertisement, or in the case of messages, figures or symbols attached directly to any part of a .. <br />building, that area which is included in the smallest geometric shape which can be made, to <br />circumscribe the message, figure or symbol displayed thereon. The stipulated maximum sign <br />area for a free standing or ground sign refers to a single fa<?ing. <br /> <br />Street Frontage - The proximity of a parcel of land to one (1) or more streets. <br />An interior lot h~ one (I) street frontage and a comer lot has two (2) such frontages. <br /> <br />Temporary Sign:'" A sign which is erected or displayed for a limited period of <br />time and no{ affixed to a Uniform Building Code (UBC) .approved structure. ~ <br /> <br />Wall Siin - Any sign. which is affixed to: a wall of any building. Address Sign. One (1) address sign shall be required per <br />main building in all districts in accordance with Section 8.02 of the Ramsey City Code. <br /> <br />S ubd. 2. <br /> <br />Ben~h Sign. Bench signs shall be permitted only at bus stops. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Ground Sign. A grqund sign shall not project higher than tWenty- <br />five (25) feet as measured from base of signor grade of the nearest adjacent roadway, whichever <br />is lower. Any ground sign witliin fifty (50) feet of any intersection of street right-of-:way lineS <br />and/or. driveway entrances shall have a minimum vertical clearance of twelve (12) feet above the <br />centerline of the pavement Unless it can be shown that it can comply with Subd, S.b.l and 2 <br />herein. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Canopies or Marquees. Canopies and marquees shall be <br />considered to be an integral part of the structure to. which they are an accessory. Signs may be <br />attached to a canopy or marquee, but such structures shall not be considered as part of the wall <br />area and thus shall not warrant additional sign area. . <br /> <br />Subd.5. <br /> <br />Location <br /> <br />a. No sign other than governmental signs shall be erected or temporarily <br />placed within any street or public right-of-way or upon any public easement. <br />
