• Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #06-12 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF FORMER NAU SITE FOR YOUTH <br />FIRST PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey purchased the former NAU site via RALF funds <br />in preparation for the eventual re -construction of Hwy 10; and <br />WHEREAS, portions of the former NAU building have been leased for business <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the south-eastern office space is currently not leased and would fit <br />the need for Youth First programming for the Oak Terrace neighborhood and other <br />Ramsey area youth; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of this space for this purpose supports the work of Youth <br />First by fulfilling the five promises of Youth First, which are: Caring Adults, Safe <br />Places, A Healthy Start, Marketable Skills, and Opportunities to Serve; and <br />WHEREAS, there is an economic development benefit of allowing the use of this <br />space for this purpose, which includes the presence of activity at the site, increased <br />marketability of neighboring office space, increased care and maintenance of the asset, <br />and the collective effort of the city's business and civic partners in support of the <br />program. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes the use of the south- <br />eastern office space at the former NAU building for Youth First programming <br />through the end of August 2007. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof- <br />and <br />hereof <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />• Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 12'h day of December 2006. <br />—155— <br />
