• CASE # a <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID ON-CALL FIRE FIGHTERS <br />By: Givonna Reed Kon6, Human Resources Manager <br />Background <br />Due to the need to provide fire protection services to Burns Township, staff began a recruitment <br />process to hire ten paid on-call Fire Fighters. A Fire Fighter orientation was held in September <br />and interviews and physical agility tests were conducted in October. Candidates were <br />interviewed by a panel consisting of the Fire Chief, both Assistant Fire Chiefs, the Fire Marshal, <br />and the Human Resources Manager. <br />At this time staff is recommending that following individuals be hired as paid -on-call Fire <br />Fighters: Justin Borer, Bart Hayft, Chad Hayft, Kyle Hemmerich, Andrew Johnson, Jeffrey <br />Roley, Shane Swedeen, and Lance Weatherly. All eight individuals have successfully completed <br />background checks and medical exams. The remaining two positions will be filled at a to -be - <br />determined time in the future. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff is recommending that the City Council hire the following eight individuals as paid -on-call <br />• Fire Fighters: Justin Borer, Bart Hayft, Chad Hayft, Kyle Hemmerich, Andrew Johnson, Jeffrey <br />Roley, Shane Swedeen, and Lance Weatherly.
