Magney Construction has completed the concrete pours for the reservoir and WTP. Subcontractors
have completed electrical conduit installation within the electrical room, floor slabs throughout the facility
and framing of the administration spaces. Subcontractors have completed all CMU block work for the
facility. Steel beam installation has been completed in the WTP. Site piping has been installed for sanitary,
storm, raw, and fmished water connecting to utility in the right of way. Process piping is complete in the
pipe gallery and is about 90% complete in the plate settler room. Exterior architectural components
including metal siding are completed and translucent wall panels have begun installation. Large mechanical
equipment has been installed and wired within the administration spaces and chemical rooms. Filter
construction continues to progress, and underdrain systems have been tested, filter media install is about
75% complete. AE2S' engineering team has continued to coordinate with Magney and further refine the
details of installation of equipment. Through those investigations we have identified some items that will
require adjustments. This letter is intended to outline those adjustments and summarize the current project
budget in order for the City to fully understand the status of the project.
Basis for of Construction Contingency Exnenses:
Currently twenty-two (22) requests for pricing (RFP) have been submitted to Magney. To date AE2S has
received pricing back on twenty-two (22) of the RFP's, and has received twenty-eight (28) separate
Contractor proposals. The Engineer has reviewed all of the received proposals and recommends that the
Owner move forward with approving Construction Contingency Expense No. 11, which includes Proposal
No. 047, Proposal No. 048, Proposal No. 049, and Proposal No. 050. Descriptions of the changes are
described below and proposals and associated initiation documents are attached for reference. If the
Contractor would like to include a request for extension as a result of these changes, a formal Change Order
request will be issued at a different time.
Proposal
No.
Initiation 7Description
Total Cost
Required
001
002
003
RFP 001
RFP 003
Incidental
Mixing Pumps Pipe
Upsizing
Admin Ceiling Grid
Color
Building Permit
Reimbursement
Upsizing Air
$51,287.38
$2,609.25
$62,887.28
004 RFP 002 Exchange in Plate $16,580.02
Settler Room
Storm and Plumbing
Updates
006 RFP 005 Flowable Fill
005
RFP 006
$22,550.28
N
Y
N
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 1
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 1
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 1
N City and Engineer Rejected
Y
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
