Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #25-236 <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE SUBMITTAL FOR THE BUILDING OFFICIAL <br />TRAINING (BOT) MUNICIPAL GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Construction Codes and Licensing Division of the Minnesota <br />Department of Labor and Industry is offering a competitive grant to qualified municipalities that <br />want to establish a training program in their municipality's building code department to train an <br />individual toward becoming a Minnesota -certified building official; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey Building Division is interested in submitting a grant <br />application in hopes to obtain grant funding for up to $75,000 for fiscal year 2026; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey Building Division will administer the BOT; and <br />WHEREAS, it is herein determined that it is in Ramsey's best interest to apply for the <br />BOT grant. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows, <br />1) Ramsey City Council supports the submittal of the Building Official Training Municipal <br />Grant. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peters, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Heineman <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Peters <br />Councilmember Buscher <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Specht <br />Councilmember Stewart <br />And the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />And the following abstained: <br />None <br />And the following were absent: <br />None <br />
