<br />recognize Mr. Pearson for his time, effort and support. He announced the following support <br />given by Mr. Pearson to the Ramsey community: <br />· Prior to the Ramsey Fire Department being established Mr. Pearson served on the <br />original Fire Board that looked into the long term needs of the community and decided to <br />pursue the establishment of a Fire Department. <br />· Council member on two separate occasions <br />· Citizen member of the Public Safety Board <br />· Council member serving on the Public Safety Board <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated Mr. Pearson is no stranger at training drills and meetings held at the Fire <br />Department. Because of this history, the Fire Department would like to officially dedicate a <br />building of this City that would proudly bear Mr. Pearson's name today and tomorrow. It was a <br />unanimous decision by the Fire Department that Station No.1 should be dedicated in the name <br />of Al Pearson. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson stated he loves his community and it was his turn to step up. He was <br />proud to do his little part to make the community what it is. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated Councilmember Pearson has been a very loyal person, working with the <br />Fire Department from day one. The work Councilmember Pearson has done to serve the <br />community is quite a tribute to him. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced this is the first meeting in the new municipal building. The building is <br />an asset that is really needed for the City; it is a place the citizens can gather and meet and a <br />place they can call home. There will be an open house for the building on December 20 from <br />4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a formal program and dedication at 6:00. He encouraged all citizens to <br />attend. <br /> <br />Students of Elk River High School introduced themselves and stated they are present for <br />Government Class. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen indicated the addition of Case No. 12A: Consider Appointment of an <br />Interim City Administrator and Direct Staff to Issue an RFP for an Executive Search Firm. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to approve the <br />agenda as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Strommen, Jeffrey, Cook, Elvig, <br />Olson, and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Council / December 12, 2006 <br />Page 3 of 29 <br />
