CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />08/26/2025 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention <br />Title: <br />Authorization to Hire a Police Officer Filling a Current Vacancy in the Patrol Division <br />5. 3. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request the City Council hire a Police Officer, backfilling a current Patrol Officer <br />vacancy. Human Resources conducted a Police Officer recruitment. Mr. Andrew Kavanaugh applied and met the <br />necessary training and experience threshold. He was invited to take part in the City's interview process, the <br />physical agility fitness testing and the "shoot/don't shoot" video scenario activity. Staff selected Mr. Kavanaugh as <br />a finalist to be advanced through the pre -employment background testing. At this time, staff is recommending <br />Andrew Kavanaugh for the position of Police Officer with the City of Ramsey. With the City Council's <br />authorization, Mr. Kavanaugh will start as the City's newest Police Officer on or near Monday, September 15, <br />2025.
