CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Topic Report: NW Metro Corridor
Property. Acquisition
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator
Background:.
The City has been discussing and considering the acquisition of property along the Northwest
Metro Corridor River Crossing since spring of this year. The Boike property is located at the
interchange of T.H. #10/169 and the future Northwest River Crossing Corridor (map attached).
The City recently received a letter from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)
that provides assurances that the property would be eligible for reimbursement at some time in
the future (MnDOT letter attached).
Staff and consultants have been receiving a great deal of pressure from Mr. Boike to receive
some type of lease compensation. The item has been added to the work session agenda for
discussion for possible.. consideration of a lease arrangement with Mr. Boike that would go
toward an eventual purchase agreement.
Action Statement:
Provide direction for possible acquisition of Boike property.
Reviewed by:
City Administrator
CCWS: 12/21/06-
