CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: <br />Title: <br />Discuss Pending Vacancy on the EDA <br />09/09/2025 <br />2. 3. <br />Information <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Staff was notified that EDA member William MacLennan desires to resign from the EDA, however, if no one was <br />available to fill the vacancy he would finish his term. Mr. MacLennan's term on the EDA is scheduled to go <br />through March 31, 2027. <br />During the last annual Board and Commission recruitment process, Ms. Nichole Bauer (formerly Ms. Nichole <br />Rudack) was appointed to a partial term on the Planning Commission. Ms. Bauer's desired board was the <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA). At the time of Ms. Bauer's appointment to the Planning Commission, <br />the City Council discussed the possibility of appointing her to the EDA, but ultimately the City Council appointed <br />her to the Planning Commission. As a result of Mr. MacLennan's intent to resign, staff discussed this matter and <br />contacted Ms. Bauer to gauge her current level of interest in the EDA. Ms. Bauer is very much interested in being <br />appointed to the EDA. If the City Council approves of this action, Ms. Bauer stated that she is interested in and <br />willing to continue on the Planning Commission until the next regular recruitment (early 2026), at which time her <br />Planning Commission seat would be filled by a new member. <br />If, by consensus, the City Council directs staff to replace Mr. MacLennan's soon to be vacant seat by appointing <br />Ms. Bauer, staff will prepare a resolution for the September 23, 2025 regular meeting, and she will start her new <br />appointment on the EDA in October. <br />Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: <br />Approximately 10 minutes. <br />Funding Source: <br />Not applicable. <br />Recommendation: <br />Consider Ms. Nichole Bauer for appointment to the Economic Development Authority (EDA) and for <br />continuation of her service on the Planning Commission until the next regular annual recruitment cycle for terms <br />commencing April 1, 2026. <br />Outcome/Action: <br />Based on discussion. <br />No file(s) attached. <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox <br />Reviewed By Date <br />
