Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #25-278 <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION #25-278 AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SHELTERS AND <br />FURNISHINGS FOR THE WATERFRONT <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council and the Park & Recreation Commission recognizes the <br />importance of Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Community Parks and their play amenities are essential areas for play and <br />creative and cognitive expression, as well as the positive physical development of children; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of the city's community park system planning, a water -centric <br />park known as The Waterfront has been envisioned for more than a decade in Ramsey's <br />downtown —and a splash pad or water play area has been the top request by residents for the park; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, City Council has directed staff to deliver the water play elements with <br />pavilions and outdoor furnishings for substantial completion by July of 2026, and <br />WHEREAS, the three shelters and furniture production and delivery timelines, <br />necessitates their purchases in November of 2025 to meet the above goal; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is member of the Sourcewell and Omnia purchasing <br />cooperatives, and will be purchasing the restroom through the respective contracts. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />That, up to three hundred and forty-three thousand nine hundred twenty-one dollars ($343,921), <br />are hereby allocated from the Park Trust Fund, for the purchase and delivery of the aforementioned <br />items, plus the water meter. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />none <br />and the following abstained: <br />RESOLUTION #25-278 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
