Vacation leave will count <br />toward total budgeted work hours for the year. <br />6.2 Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) <br />Effective January 1, 2025, all accrued traditional sick time and accumulated ESST leave <br />shall be designated as Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), under Minnesota Statutes §§ <br />181.9445-181.9448, as amended and shall be administered in accordance with the ESST <br />statutes. <br />Every probationary, regular, and part-time employee is entitled to ESST leave with pay. <br />For full-time employee's ESST time shall accrue at the rate of eight (8) hours for each <br />calendar month of full-time service or major fraction thereof. Part-time employees shall <br />accrue ESST leave on a pro-rata basis, but no less than one (1) hour for every thirty (30) <br />hours worked. ESST leave may be accumulated to a maximum of 960 hours and may be <br />granted in units of not less than 15 minutes. Unused ESST leave in excess of 960 hours at <br />the end of a calendar year (January 1st) shall be converted to the post -employment <br />healthcare savings plan at a rate of one hour for each two hours of ESST leave in excess <br />of 960 hours. Non -union employees hired before January 1, 1984 are not eligible for the <br />healthcare savings plan and shall receive said excessive hours greater than 960 at a rate of <br />one hour for each two hours of ESST converted to vacation time earned at the end of a <br />calendar year (January 1st). <br />31 <br />
