The City will not reimburse costs associated with the attendance of a family member at a <br />workshop, conference, and other assignment. Printed detailed receipts are required for lodging <br />and must accompany a request for reimbursement form. <br />9.5 MEALS <br />When on City business, a maximum of three meals per day will be reimbursed by the City. <br />Attendees must take advantage of all meals that are provided and included in the registration fee <br />for workshops, conferences, or other assignments. The City will not reimburse for alcoholic <br />beverages, tobacco products, or costs associated with family members. <br />Printed detailed meal receipts are required and must accompany a request for reimbursement <br />form. The detailed meal receipt must include the food and beverage items ordered. The request <br />for reimbursement foiin must include an explanation of the public purpose for the meal and a list <br />of the attendees. The receipts and reimbursement request form shall be submitted to the Finance <br />Department for payment. <br />The maximum reimbursement rates for meals, including taxes and tips, are as follows: <br />Note: The City will reimburse tips up to 20% of the bill (before taxes). Employees choosing to <br />tip more than 20% will not be reimbursed for the difference. <br />Breakfast: $18.00 <br />Lunch: $20.00 Dinner: $36.00 <br />The City Council recognizes the public purpose of the City Administrator's business meetings <br />with developers, staff, consultants, Council members and others. Therefore, the City Council <br />grants discretion to the City Administrator, or the City Administrator's designee, on a case -by - <br />case basis, to seek reimbursement from the City for business meals, regardless of where or when <br />those meals occur. <br />9.6 Training, Licensure, and Education Policy <br />The City of Ramsey is responsible for delivering services to a broad constituency of residents <br />and organizations. These services are delivered by staff members, consultants, and outside <br />agencies. The Ramsey City Council, in an effort to ensure ongoing quality service delivery, <br />provides a program for training its staff. <br />It is the primary objective of the training program to ensure that training funds are allocated to <br />learning activities that address organizational goals and follow a progression of skill <br />development. Annually, each department is responsible for projecting individual staff training <br />needs for the next five years. <br />Department budget requests and future projections will be evaluated to ensure compliance with <br />organizational goals and budget allocations.
