<br /> <br /> <br />November 12, 2025 <br /> <br /> <br />Contact: Erik Thorson, Chief Communications Officer, 763-324-4612, or e-mail: <br />Erik.Thorson@anokacountymn.gov <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />Anoka County Job Training Center Awarded $250,000 Grant <br /> The Anoka County Job Training Center (JTC) was recently named a recipient of a <br />$250,000 grant to be focused on developing and implementing agriculture-focused workforce <br />training for the Growing Careers initiative. <br />The grant came from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic <br /> <br />being able to obtain a class A heavy and tractor- <br />erials and air brake endorsements, <br />resulting in agriculture industry-recognized credentials. The Anoka County Growing Careers <br />competitive grant will fully integrate support services and partner with the Minnesota Propane <br />Association, Minnesota Truck and Trainer, and Metro North Adult Basic Education for training <br />and job placement programs with retention services. <br /> <br /> <br /> Growing Careers grant recipients are eligible for up to $500,000 to develop training <br />programs to help more Minnesotans enter agricultural careers, specifically dislocated workers, <br />including those with low-income or who need assistance with basic skill development.
