<br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #25-281 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CASH GRANT FOR THE CITY OF RAMSEY’S POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 465.03 requires that a city pass a resolution that <br />accepts any donations or grants, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, two-thirds majority of the council members must adopt said resolution to <br />accept the grant formally; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey applied for and has received a cash non-matching <br />grant from the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, in the <br />amount of $2,000; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant will be applied towards the Ramsey Police Department bicycle <br />patrol unit, for the addition of an eBike to this unit. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that <br />works in direct partnership with the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association. The <br />Foundation was established in 2009 and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of <br />corporate leaders, business executives, and supportive citizens. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts the grant made by the Minnesota Chiefs of <br />Police Foundation in the amount of $2,000. <br /> <br />3) That the donation shall be applied to the purchase of an eBike for the Ramsey Police <br />Department bicycle patrol unit. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peters, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Heineman <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Peters <br /> Councilmember Buscher <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> Councilmember Stewart <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
