Mr. Bacon stated he could not have accomplished any of this without the support of staff and the <br />councils throughout the years. <br />Mayor Gamec announced there will be a celebration for Mr. Bacon on December 6 at the new <br />municipal center. <br />PRESENTATION: Tara Benkofske, Anoka High School President for Students Against <br />Destructive Decisions <br />Tara Benkofske, Anoka High School Co-President of Students Against Destructive Decisions <br />(SADD), stated she is present to announce the celebration of SADD's 25~' anniversary. SADD <br />was originally formed in 1981 as Students Against Drunk Driving and in 1997 became Students <br />Against Destructive Decisions. Ms. Benkofske stated SADD is not just a group; it is a lifestyle <br />and an opportunity to lead other students in making positive decisions. Each year SADD <br />educates the community by passing out red ribbons at the Anoka Halloween Parade. Ms. <br />Benkofske informed the Council and residents about SADD's Empowered Campaign. She <br />invited the City Council to attend the annual tree lighting celebration at Anoka City Hall on <br />Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Gamec stated people do not realize how important youth is to the community and some of <br />the leadership they have in their youth. SADD is showing the good things youth are trying to <br />create in communities throughout the state. It is great to see Ramsey residents working on this <br />project. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />A student of Elk River High School introduced himself and stated he is present for his <br />Government Class. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />City Administrator Norman indicated Case No. <br />replaced with Consent Agenda No. 13. Case <br />Personnel Committee. <br />6 is being removed from the agenda and will be <br />No. 7/3 will be added to the report from the <br />Councilmember Jeffrey requested Case No. 3 be moved up in the agenda to be acted on as Case <br />No. A. <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Jeffery, to approve the <br />agenda as amended. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Strommen, Jeffery, Cook, Olson, <br />and Pearson. Voting No: None.
