This request to order the squads now is in lieu of waiting until J an~ or
February of 2007 to do so. Recent information has come forward from forq., ind, icating that they
are manufacturing only a certain percentage ofFord Crown Victoria Poli~e Interceptorsip, the
year 2007 and it is anticipated that some police agencies nationwide m~y need to seek lother
sources for their police cruisers needs. Currently in the State of Minnesota they have letun.' ed
that some metropolitan police agencies have waited over six montl~s for their 20Q6police
cruisers and this delay is expected into 2007.
