<br /> <br />Mr. Bacon stated he could not have accomplished anyofthi$ without the support of staff and the <br />councils throughout the years. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced there will be a celebration for Mr. Bacon on December 6 at the new <br />municipal center. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: Tara Benkofske, Anoka HigltSchool President for Students Against <br />Destructive Decisions <br /> <br />Tara Benkofske, Anoka High School Co-President 'of Students Against Destructive Decisions <br />(SADD), stated she is present to announce the celeb~~tiQn of SADD's 25th anniversary. SADD <br />was originally formed in 1981 as Students Against qrunk I?riviug and.in 1997 becanle Students <br />Against Destructive Decisions. Ms. Benkofske stat~d SADD is not just a group; it is a lifestyle <br />and an opportunity to lead other students in maklng positive decisions. Each year SADD <br />educates the community by passing out red ribbotls at tJ:le Anoka'Ha110ween Parade. Ms. <br />Benkofske informed the Council and resid~mts abcbut SAnD's Empowered Campaign. She <br />invited the City Council to attend the annual tree lighting celebration at Anoka City Hall on <br />Saturday, December 2,2006, at 6:00 p.m. . <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated people do not realize hoW' important youth is to the community and some of <br />the leadership they have in their youth. SAD]I)is sho'Wing the good things youth are trying to <br />create in conununities throughout the state. Itis great to see Ramsey residents working on this <br />project. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />A student of Elk River High School introduced;himself and stated he is present for his <br />Govenunent Class. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated Case No, 6 is ~~ing re,moved from the agenda and will be <br />replaced with Consent Agenda No. 13. Case No. ;7/3 will be added to the report from the <br />Personnel Conunittee. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey requested Case No.3 be mo~edup in the agenda to be acted on as Case <br />No.A. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, secoh.ded byi COuIlcihne,111ber Jeffery, to approve the <br />agenda as amended. . . <br /> <br />Motion carried.
