Staff direction from that meeting was to investigate lany <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment options with Metropolitan Council staff. Ms. Geisler rep~rted <br />staff met with Metropolitan Council staff on November 3, 2006 and learned than an "4tte#ID" <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment could be processed prior to the fu];l Comprehensive :plan <br />update due in 2008. Metropolitan Council staff had indicated the City could pursue rezoning the <br />R-l Rural Development area from the current 2.5 acre lots to 5 or 10 acre lot development. <br />Metropolitan Council is more supportive of 10 acre lot development. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen expressed support in extending the moratorium in order to pursu~ the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Geisler indicated the moratorium could be extended up to an additioQ.al three <br />months. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon provided Councilme;:mber-Elpct Look and <br />Councilmember-Elect Dehen with background information on the Cluster Ordinance. <br /> <br />Council discussed 5 and 10 acre development as possible ordinance stanqards. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen noted there will not be many development requests coming; in iprior <br />to the Comprehensive Plan Amendment. She explained she has been working with a lot of <br />communities on similar types of ordinances. Many communities realized the ordinance !theyput <br />in place was not quite what they wanted when they got to the implementation phase and thci,y are <br />pulling back for further work on the ordinance. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to draft the ordinance reyision Jor the Rl-l Rural <br />Development standards based on 10 acre development for further Council cpnsideration. <br /> <br />The work session was recessed at 7:58 p.m. and reconvened at 8:06p.m.! <br /> <br /> <br />Community Develop hector Trudgeon reviewed that the McI<.nfght F9U11diition: avfatded <br />the City of Ramsey a $50,00 t to initiate the Ramset project.
