<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, September 26, <br />2006, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Assistant Finance Officer Sandy Carlson <br />EI Tinklenberg of The Tinklenberg Group <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was amended as follows: 1) Ramsey Express Commuter Coach; 2) Consider <br />Alpine Drive/County Road 5 (Nowthen Boulevard) Intersection/Skyline Development <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Ramsey Express Commuter Coach <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated staff has been working with Anoka County <br />Transit Management Organization staff, Northstar representatives, and consultants to make plans <br />for the anticipated start of the Ramsey Express Commuter Coach. Staff is waiting for approval <br />from FTA to amend the contract to allow Ramsey to piggy-back on the Laidlaw contract for bus <br />service. The NCDA will hold their board meeting at the new City Hall on November 2, 2006, <br />from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Staff is suggesting an open house be scheduled that evening from 6 p.m. to <br />8:30 or 9 p.m. to kick off the bus service. Ms. Nelson indicated the Council should discuss <br />possible names for the bus service. She indicated the buses will look like Northstar buses with <br />the Northstar logo replaced with a logo design that is distinctive to Ramsey. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / September 26, 2006 <br />Page 1 of4 <br />
