EDA # <br />2001 INDUCTEE TO THE RAMSEY BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />HALL OF FAME <br />By: Megan Wald , Community Development Assistant <br />Background: <br />Each year at the Ramsey Business Appreciation Day, the City inducts a person into the Ramsey <br />Business and Economic Development Hall of Fame. <br />The EDA has used the following general criteria when considering nominees: <br />1. Has been involved in all aspects of the community. <br />2. Has provided for the maintenance or expansion of the commercial/industrial tax base of the <br />community through the development of new business ventures or the retention or expansion of <br />existing business. <br />3. The expansion or retention of the employment base of the community. <br />4. Sundquist Jack Kovar <br />1995 Wesley Bulen Gary Reimann <br />1996 John Noard Chuck Solderholm <br />1997 Harold Stoltz <br />1998 Dennis Sharp <br />1999 Delores St. Germain <br />2000 Gerald Bauer <br />Observations: <br />Staff is requesting that the EDA nominate a person to be inducted into the Business and Economic <br />Hall of Fame in order to provide sufficient time to order an engraved plaque. <br />The EDA may also choose to add people to the nominee list if the board is inclined to do so. A <br />possible person to add to the nominee list is Andy Schweizer who is the owner of ACE Solid <br />Waste. ACE Solid Waste located to the City of Ramsey in the year 2000. They constructed a <br />19,926 square foot facility with a 17,100 square foot future addition. ACE Solid Waste has <br />generously donated to the City recycling services for Ramsey Parks along with monetary donations <br />that has been used for various park improvements. <br />EDA Action: <br />Motion to induct <br />Fame. <br />into the 2001 Ramsey Business and Economic Development Hall of <br />
