Councilmember Olson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-11-370 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE REPLACEMENT OF TITTERUD PARK'S PLAY EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council and Park and Recreation Commission recognizes the importance of Parks, Open Space and Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; and WHEREAS, Neighborhood Parks require areas for play and creative as well as physical development of children; and WHEREAS, Titterud Park's play equipment is in excess of 20-years old and no longer meets certain play equipment guidelines; and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission developed a Request for Proposals to address the play equipment replacement, and is recommending that St. Croix Recreation's proposal be approved and incorporated in to an area of Bur Oaks within the Park; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: That, up to seven thousand ($7,000), are hereby allocated from the Park Trust Fund, and forty- eight thousand ($48,000) to purchase play equipment (in the amount of $45,000) from St. Croix Recreation, and further to direct staff to implement the other associated recreational improvements to the area within Titterud Park known as The Grove. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Strommen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Olson Councilmember Strommen Councilmember Cook Councilmember Pearson and the following voted against the same: none and the following abstained: none and the following were absent: Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Jeffrey RESOLUTION #06-11-370 Page 1 of2
