Chairperson McDilda stated that too often people get together to recognize the bad. He
stated the idea is to open minds about how to make things better and build on strengths
rather than think about weaknesses.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that most citizens are used to
participating on a different level.

Chairperson McDilda stated that everybody goes into the process not knowing what will
happen.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that the OST invitation to the
community will go out in January 2007. He stated the focus question will be, "What are
the five best things about Ramsey?" The kick off OST event will be held on May 4 and
5,2007.

Environmental Specialist Bacon stated that is the same date as the EXPO.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated this will be held on a Friday night
and Saturday morning/afternoon. He stated that was the only effective way that it could
be done. It will be hosted at the Municipal Center.

Community Development Director Trudgeon noted the web site as www.ramsev3.org.
He stated that improvements will be made to the website.

Community Development Director Trudgeon solicited questions from the EPB members.
He stated that he was pleased that the McKnight Foundation gave the city the $50,000
grant.

Board Member Max asked if part of the grant was turning this into a case study.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that one of the questions asked was
how much this process can be replicated as far as public participation and can other cities
utilize it.

Chairperson McDilda stated that the underlying premise of the grant was understanding
that things are different out there. He stated that other people were brought in for
enlightenment.

Board Member Max stated this was similar to an old fashioned town meeting. He asked
what kind of participation can be expected.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated there are co-sponsors.
Chairperson McDilda stated information is on the web site to help spread the word.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that the city will do their part as a
result of direct mailings, website promotions, and focus on the region.
