<br />Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 06-05-168 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT NO. 89336, A JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />THE CITY OF ANOKA, THE CITY OF RAMSEY, AND BURNS TOWNSHIP FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, City of Anoka, MnDOT, Anoka County and Burns Township <br />have indicated a desire to work collaborative1y on solving the issue of traffic congestion of Trunk <br />Highway 47, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey understands that Trunk Highway 47 provides economic vitality <br />to its community and is a regional transportation corridor. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City of Ramsey City Council enter into a Joint Powers Agreement for Alignment <br />Concepts, Preliminary Design, Environmental Review and Official Mapping of TH 47 <br />between CSAH 22 (Viking Boulevard) and TH lOin Anoka County, Agreement Number <br />89336, with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation and Anoka County, the <br />City of Anoka, and Burns Township for the following purpose, to wit: <br /> <br />Alignment concepts for at least three (3) alternative alignments, an Environmental <br />Assessment Worksheet (EA W) Level One Geometric Layout, and Official Mapping for <br />TH 47 from approximately CSAH 22 (Viking Boulevard) to the intersection of TH 10 <br />and with consideration for access modifications, and connection to TH 10, with analysis <br />of local street connections and improved circulation for vehicles, trucks, bicyclists and <br />pedestrians. <br /> <br />2) That the Mayor and the City Administrator are authorized to execute such agreement. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember JeffreyCouncilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-05-168 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
