<br />Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-08-267 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S HIP AA SECURITY POLICY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the administrative simplification standards required under HIP AA include <br />security rules for protected health information; arid <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is subject to the HIP AA security rules because in the <br />future it may have electronic protected health information; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HIP AA security rules require adoption of a policy that outlines how <br />individually identifiable electronic health information will be protected. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Adopt this resolution indicating that the City of Ramsey has a HIP AA Security Policy <br />which outlines the measures taken by the City of Ramsey to protect individually <br />identifiable electronic health information. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />
