Councilmember Olson stated that he would also support that change, absent any rationale for the <br />one -hour parking. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby stated that the salon opens in March and stated that <br />he can check back with the salon owner and developer to ensure they support that change, and if <br />there are no changes, it can move forward to the City Council. <br />Chairperson Riley confirmed that input can be solicited and brought to the Council with the <br />recommendation from the Committee. <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Chairperson Riley, to recommend City Council <br />approval of on -street parking restrictions around Skyline Apartments, as discussed with the two- <br />hour restriction only. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley and Councilmember Olson. Voting No: None. <br />5.03: Receive Updates on Waterfront Water Play Park Improvements <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Director Riverblood provided an update on the Waterfront <br />Water Play Park improvement project. <br />Councilmember Specht arrived. <br />5.04: Further Discuss Repairing Irrigation Damage Associated with Improvement Projects <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek reviewed the staff report and asked for input from the <br />Committee on the draft policy. <br />Chairperson Riley asked for information on commercial -grade sprinkler heads. <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek reviewed the language within the draft policy that would cover <br />that element. <br />Chairperson Riley confirmed the consensus of the Committee in support of the draft policy. <br />5.05: Consider Recommending City Council Approval of Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisements for Bids for Flintwood Hills 2"d and 3rd Street <br />Reconstructions, Improvement Project #26-05 <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek reviewed the staff report and recommended City Council <br />approval of plans and specifications and authorization of advertisements for bids for Flintwood <br />Hills 2nd and 3rd Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #26-05. <br />Councilmember Olson suggested placing temporary signs in the field using language such as "Park <br />This Side Only" rather than directing residents via letters to park on the north, south, east or west <br />side of a street since some residents may not understand these directions. <br />Public Works Committee / January 20, 2026 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
