2. 1. <br />CC Special Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 03/19/2026 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention. <br />Title: <br />Conduct the Interview Process for the Position of City Engineer <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this special work session is to conduct an interview with a City Engineer finalist. <br />This matter was discussed during the January 13, 2026, work session. At that time, City staff updated the City <br />Council that two separate external recruitments had been conducted, which did not result in advancing a <br />candidate for City Council consideration. Options were discussed with the City Council and it was decided that <br />staff would recruit again in hopes of filling this position. The additional recruitment resulted in four candidates <br />being interviewed by the management team. Two of these candidates participated in the City's Leadership <br />Assessment and one candidate will be interviewed by the City Council this evening. Staff will provide an <br />overview of the candidates' credentials and be on hand to answer questions.
