Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #26-090 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING MN DNR CONSERVATION PARTNERS <br />LEGACY GRANT FOR THE WATERFRONT <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council and the Park & Recreation Commission recognizes the <br />importance of Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Community Parks serve residents with a diversity of recreational <br />opportunities like the sustainable fishery underway for The Waterfront, which requires water <br />access and appropriate shoreland landscape; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 28th 2025 Council approved the Cooperative Agreement with <br />the MN Department of Natural Resources for the acceptance of the fishing pier, and allocated <br />$15,000 from the Park Trust Fund for an ADA path to pier, and rock shore fishing nodes; and <br />WHEREAS, the above amount was staffs early estimate for the path, and was <br />subsequently determined to not be enough funding after receiving contractor quotes for the work — <br />and now recommends adding an additional $14,785 from the Park Trust Fund to complement the <br />earlier appropriation to adequately construct and stabilize the slopes of the sizable ADA path to <br />the pier, which would include shrubs and trees at that site. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />That, the city hereby formally accepts MN DNR Conservation Partners Legacy Grant for The <br />Waterfront, with a budget of $46,369 for the establishment and maintenance of shoreland <br />landscapes; and <br />That, the city hereby allocates an additional $14,785 from the Park Trust Fund to complement the <br />earlier appropriation to address the fishing access improvements. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />none <br />and the following abstained: <br />RESOLUTION #26-090 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
