The savings realized by the residents exceeds the City contribution so people are benefiting from City participation: This recreational benefit is .not currently available in the City park system so maintaining this program until a swimming pool is available in Ramsey makes good sense. The Ramsey Town Center Development will be bringing more new residents to the City and we should continue to maximize the variety. and quantity of recreational opportunities and this program helps this effort. The savings realized by the residents that have participated in the program exceeds the cost to the City. The summary provided by the Anoka Parks department is attached. Participation in the program provides reduced rates on season passes for families, reduced rates for swim lessons and reduced fees for the Ramsey Safety Camp. The 2007 rates have not been set; however, Anoka is asking for a commitment by March 15 so that the 2007 brochures can be printed. Staff recommends that if the Commission approves continuation of the program then availability of the program be promoted through the Ramsey Resident, City Website and other publications. Commission Action: Motion to approve/deny the continued participation in the Anoka Aquatics Program. The Commission decision will be forwarded to the City Council for ratification.
