City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby stated that annually, the Committee appoints a Chair <br />and Vice Chair, which are the actions before the Committee tonight. <br />Chairperson Olson nominated Councilmember Riley for Chairperson. <br />Councilmember Riley accepted the nomination. <br />Motion by Chairperson Olson,seconded by Councilmember Riley, to appoint Chris Rileyas <br />Chairperson of the Public Works Committee for the term January 20, 2026, to December 31, 2026. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Olson and Councilmember Riley. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Chairperson Riley nominated Councilmember Olson as Vice Chair. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson accepted. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Riley, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to appoint Michael Olson as <br />Vice-Chairperson of the Public Works Committee for the term January 20, 2026, to December 31, <br />2026. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley and Councilmember Olson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />5.02: Consider a Recommendation to City Council Approving On-Street Parking <br />Restrictions Around Skyline Apartments <br /> <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby reviewed the staff report and recommendation to <br />approve the on-street parking restrictions around Skyline Apartments as proposed. <br />Councilmember Olson stated that he does like this plan. He asked for additional information on <br />resident parking and resident overflow parking. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby replied that the renters have spaces below the <br />building on the east, as well as within the courtyard. He stated that he had not seen signage in the <br />courtyard specifying resident-only parking. <br />Chairperson Riley commented that he supports the parking restrictions but was unsure why there <br />were two different restrictions proposed rather than making the restrictions consistent. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby stated that it is his understanding that the salon <br />business owner requested two-hour parking, as did the developer to accommodatefuture <br />businesses. He was unsure why one-hour parking was proposed along Sunwood Drive. <br />Chairperson Riley commented that he would prefer to have two-hour parking on all of the streets <br />for consistency. <br />Public Works Committee / January 20, 2026 <br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br />
