CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: <br />5. 9. <br />03/24/2026 <br />Identify and implement operational efficiencies, cost savings and additional <br />funding sources. <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution 1t26 075 #26-075A Authorizing the Application for MN DNR Grant Funding for 2026-27 <br />Playground Improvements at Riverdale Park <br />Purpose/Background: <br />This consent case and text are the same as the Council approved on March 10, 2026 — but the attached <br />resolution's text is reworded, due to specific requirements of the MN DNR application that were recently revealed. <br />This case is to acknowledge the intent to apply for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) <br />funding for playground replacement and renovation at Riverdale Park. <br />One of the stipulations in applying for the competitive MN DNR program is a resolution from the local unit of <br />government assuring that the application for the project has matching funding approved by City Council —thus <br />the purpose of this case. <br />Funding Source: <br />This case acknowledges the intent to apply for grant funding, which would result in an allocation of one hundred <br />and twenty-five thousand ($125,000), from the Lawful Gambling Improvement Fund, for the purchase and <br />installation of play equipment, poured -in -place resilient surfacing and related improvements, to match $125,000 <br />in Minnesota Outdoor Recreation Grant Program funding (if awarded). <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends supporting the MN DNR application for funding by the adoption of Resolution #26-075. <br />Outcome/Action: <br />Motion to Adopt Resolution #26-075 Authorizing the Application for Minnesota Outdoor Recreation Grant <br />Program funding for Playground Improvements at Riverdale Park. <br />Res #26-075A DNR Grant <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />Brian Hagen Brian Hagen 03/19/2026 03:51 PM <br />Form Started By: Mariah Albrecht Started On: 03/19/2026 03:22 PM <br />Final Approval Date: 03/19/2026 <br />
