5. 13.
CC Regular Session
Meeting Date:
03/24/2026
Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Enhance City's communication through transparency and accountability.
Title:
Adopt Resolution #26-084 Appointing Board and Commission Members
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to appoint and re -appoint members to the City's Boards and Commissions.
The City Council is responsible for appointing board and commission members to the Economic Development
Authority (EDA), the Environmental Policy Board (EPB), the Park and Recreation Commission and the Planning
Commission. It should be noted that the Mayor, per Minnesota Statute 469.095 has authority over the EDA
appointment.
Staff conducted the annual boards and commissions recruitment process as per the attached policy, for terms
beginning April 1, 2026. Vacancies were advertised in the Ramsey Resident, the Anoka County Union, on the
City's website, on social media and via the City's email notification system.
Board or commission members with terms set to expire on March 31, 2026, were contacted and asked if they
desired re -appointment or not. If yes, staff followed the policy to advance them in the process. The City Council
reviewed the incumbent member materials, and it was the consensus of the City Council to make the following
re -appointments to terms beginning April 1, 2026.
(Board/Commision liName 'Term
Environmental Policy Melissa 1l4-year full term
Board Fetterley
Park & Recreation Q Shane Bennett
Commission 4-year full term
I
'Planning Commission Randy Bauer 114-year full term
Candidates were interviewed by the City Council.
