Legislative Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Hagen reported that Ramsey participated in the North Metro Mayors <br />Association Day at the Capitol, where representatives met with legislators to discuss regional <br />priorities. He noted the legislative environment was calmer this year and highlighted the City’s <br />advocacy for projects such as the Mississippi River Crossing and Metro Mobility expansion. He <br />also discussed regional issues, including proposed regulations for congregate care facilities and <br />ongoing discussions around “missing middle” housing, noting potential changes that could provide <br />cities with more flexibility while the City continues to monitor legislative developments. <br /> <br />Councilmember Specht shared several upcoming community events, including a “Coffee with <br />Council” event planned for April 7 at Elmcrest Park, local activities such as gardening classes and <br />workshops, and an upcoming “Palooza” event, encouraging residents to check the City’s Facebook <br />page for details. He expressed appreciation for the Parks Department and local businesses for their <br />role in creating community engagement opportunities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buscher thanked City Administrator Hagen for representing the City at the <br />Capitol and emphasized the importance of legislative relationships and regional collaboration. She <br />also recognized Police Investigator Derek Anderson for testifying on cryptocurrency legislation <br />and highlighted the value of sharing local impacts with lawmakers.
