2. 1. <br />CC Special Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 04/20/2026 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention. <br />Title: <br />Conduct Fire Chief / Emergency Management Director and City Engineer Interviews <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this special work session is to conduct interviews for the positions of Fire Chief / Emergency <br />Management Director and City Engineer. <br />Background: Current Fire Chief / Emergency Management Director Matt Kohner is retiring in May and Public <br />Works Director/City Engineer Bruce Westby is transitioning away from the dual role to become full-time as the <br />City's Public Works Director. <br />Interviews will include one finalist for both the Fire Chief / Emergency Management Director and the City <br />Engineer positions. Both candidates have passed first interviews with the management team and an extensive <br />leadership assessment. City staff will be on hand to provide additional information and answer <br />questions.
